- Shanna believes that the student-teacher relationship is one of mutual growth and exploration. Her philosophy is reflected in her style of teaching in which she continually strives to promote mind-body connection and encourage intuitive movement, while honoring the uniqueness of each individuals path.
- Like any other practice, the benefits of yoga vary according to consistency and dedication, so be patient, start slow, and periodically check-in with your goals as your expectations for the practice evolve.
- Please come to class with an open mind and the understanding that it is likely that you won’t be able to do every form exactly how it is offered during class. Don’t get discouraged, there is always room to grow. If you are struggling with a certain posture or movement in class that I do not provide a modification for, please don’t hesitate to come talk to me so that I can work with you to find an alternative that will work for your body.
- Please arrive on time and early enough to check-in, make a payment, ask questions, and prepare your space for class.
- Please arrive with the appropriate equipment and apparel which may include a yoga mat, personal props, water bottle, towel, and comfortable clothing that you can move in. Blocks and straps will be available for use at the studio and there will be a limited quantity of yoga mats to borrow per class.
- Please remove shoes before stepping on the mat.
- The benefits of yoga are quite diverse, and everyone comes to class with a different purpose and goal, so please demonstrate the utmost consideration and respect for your fellow classmates and know that everyones practice will look different.
- Please refrain from talking on the mat during class. If questions arise or you need the instructors help, please quietly raise your hand and keep your voice to a minimum.
- Cell phones will not be allowed on the mat and please silence them to minimize interruptions.
